ingredients
  • 1 tbsp. fast rising yeast
  • 3 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. vinegar
  • 10 cups flour
preparation
  1. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and 1 tsp. sugar.
  2. Do not stir.
  3. Let stand until yeast comes to top.
  4. Meanwhile, mix water, sugar, oil, salt and vinegar.
  5. Add 4 cups flour to make a thin batter.
  6. Add yeast mixture; stir until smooth.
  7. Add remaining flour. Knead until dough is smooth.
  8. Cover and let rise in a warm place until double in bulk.
  9. Punch down; cover and let rise 1 hour.
  10. Make into buns and let rise for 1 hour or more.
  11. Bake in a 350°F oven until golden.
  12. Grease tops of buns while still hot.
