GREAT GLAZED CHICKEN

No bar-b-q repetoire would be complete without a glazing recipe.
There are plum glazes, apricot glazes, orange glazes, etc.

ingredients
  • 1-1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup dried fruit of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground tumeric
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

preparation
Simmer the ingredients in a saucepan.

Baste on chicken while cooking.

 

WASH HANDS, UTENSILS, SINK AND EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH RAW CHICKEN. Sanitize the counter, sinks and any containers or trays that have been used. Use a solution of 1 teaspoon of unscented chlorine bleach in 1 quart of water, and let dry completely.
Practice Food Safety and reduce the possibility of food contamination and illness.
