APPLE PIE
From the Kitchen of Lela Davis, Danville, KY

- Pie filling:
- 6-7 medium apples - peeled and sliced
- 1 unbaked pie shell
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 Tablespoon flour
Combine sugar, salt, spices and flour; mix with sliced apples. Put mixture in the unbaked pie shell.
- Crumb topping:
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 6 Tablespoons margarine
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- Mix all ingredients thoroughly, and crumble on top of pie filling.
- Bake at 425°F for 45 minutes.
- Reduce heat, and bake 20-30 minutes more.
