ingredients
  1. Pie filling:
    • 6-7 medium apples - peeled and sliced
    • 1 unbaked pie shell
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    • 1 Tablespoon flour
    Combine sugar, salt, spices and flour; mix with sliced apples. Put mixture in the unbaked pie shell.

  2. Crumb topping:
    • 3/4 cup flour
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 6 Tablespoons margarine
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
preparation
  • Mix all ingredients thoroughly, and crumble on top of pie filling.

  • Bake at 425°F for 45 minutes.

  • Reduce heat, and bake 20-30 minutes more.
