ingredients
  1. Pastry:
    • 5 cups flour
    • 1 lb. lard (I use butter)
    • dash of salt
    Cut lard into the flour and salt until pebbly.

    In a Measuring cup, Mix Together and Add to the above:
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1 egg
    • Enough water to fill cup
    • 1 tablespoon vinegar

  2. Filling:
    • 2 cups brown sugar
    • 1 cup currents or raisins
    • 1/2 cup crushed walnuts
    • nutmeg (about 1/8 teaspoon)
    • cinnamon (I add 1 teaspoon, but add to your taste)
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/4 lb. butter
    • 1 tablespoon vinegar
preparation
  • Preheat oven to 375°F
  • Roll dough.
  • Cut out tart shells with cutter and place in muffin pan.
  • Fill unbaked tart shells 2/3 full with filling.
  • Bake until pastry is slightly brown.
